About Scott Currier: Scott Currier began studying piano at the early age of 4, when he began to exhibit a natural ability on the instrument. As a classically trained pianist, he developed technical expertise, musicality, and creativity, which prepared him for his studies in jazz and other music genres. Scott attended the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire on a full scholarship, earning a bachelor’s degree in piano. While studying in Eau Claire, he had the opportunity to play with one of the country’s top-ranked collegiate jazz ensembles, as well as recording several CDs, including the Grammy-nominated album Harpoon. After teaching privately for nearly 20 years, Scott made the transition to full-time work as a church musician and composer. He continues to freelance extensively as a professional pianist and studio musician throughout the Midwest due to his expertise in a wide variety of styles. Scott has performed with several notable musicians, including Michael Brecker, Charlie Byrd, Byron Stripling, Jerry Bergonzi, Carl Fontana, Lewis Nash, Carl Allen, Benny Green, Stanley Jordan, Maria Schneider, and the Florentine Opera.
