Read more Author Q&A What inspired All Together Now? All Together Now was inspired by the years I spent living, working and going to shows in Los Angeles. Im not a musician and I dont like being on stage, so Ive always been impressed and thrilled by live music. Watching folks create an experience that exists only in that moment is amazing, and I wanted to capture that feeling for readers who may not have much experience going to shows. I also wanted to write about the challenges of artistic collaboration. During my career Ive been fortunate to create work with many collaboratorsartists, editors, letterers, colorists, designersand when you have a like-minded group of people, you can make magic together. Working with other folks opens up unexpected possibilities and takes you down artistic roads youve never explored. But sometimes it doesnt work out, and you have to listen to your gut so the ideas youre trying to express dont get lost in the mix. Did you have a favorite scene to draw? Theres a big, dramatic, emotionally-charged party scene in the middle of the book, and that was my favorite part to draw. It includes one of my least-favorite things to drawcrowds, ugh!but also some of my most-favorite thingshigh stakes! Characters behaving badly! Nighttime! Fancy lettering! Can readers expect more from Bina and the Eagle Rock crew? Yes! Im putting the finishing touches on a third book about Bina, which will be called All My Friends. In All Summer Long Binas figuring out how to START a band. In All Together Now shes learning what it means to be IN a band. In All My Friends shell learn out how to make a record and become part of her local music scene. Read more
