Combination Stitches This chapter contains 500 different stitch combinations that I used while working on my crazy quilt. I loved the challenge of finding new ways to use the same embroidery stitches I already knew. I hope that looking through this chapter will inspire you to find new and different ways to combine stitches. By changing the colors of the thread or trying the stitch with ribbon floss or silk ribbon, you can make the stitch look completely different. Adding beads, buttons, and rose montes are other good ways to change the look of the stitch. The instructions under each photo are written in the stitching order that I used. So if a caption lists Back Stitch first, that is what I did first. Some stitches are organized by motif or design elements, but most are organized by the first stitch I used in the combination.
