My Name is Jackson: Letters from a rescue dog

Based around true events, “My Name is Jackson” tells the story of a skinny, abused and neglected hunting dog who finds himself transported from a rusty tin shack in the hills of Cyprus to the leafy lanes of rural Oxfordshire. Through his letters to his new friend Milo, Jackson shares his experiences, telling of the challenges he faces, the friends he makes, and the lessons he learns as he discovers what the world offers, and all he has to give back. Jackson came to the UK in March 2021 and after receiving a welcome gift from Milo the Labradoodle on the day of his arrival, he decided to do what any well-brought-up dog would do, wrote a thank you letter and posted it on his Facebook page - Jackson Found My Forever Home. This quickly became a weekly event, and Jackson gathered hundreds of online friends who awaited the Sunday updates he unfailingly wrote for over a year. This collection of those letters is a tribute to Jackson and to the tireless work done by the volunteers in Cyprus and in the UK to help these wonderful dogs. Profits from the sale of this book will go to Rehoming Cyprus Pointers (Registered Charity No 1199776) who rescued and rehabilitated Jackson, before finding him his new home in the UK.
