In a large skillet, brown the sausage and onion over medium-high heat, breaking up any big chunks of meat with the back of a spoon, for about 10 minutes, or until the meat is just cooked and no longer pink. Drain off any grease. 2. Grease the pie plate. Spoon the mixture into the pie plate and set aside to cool. 3. Cover the cooled sausage with the shredded cheese. When Ready To Serve, You Will Need: 12 corn tortillas or soft taco-size flour tortillas. Sour cream. Easy Homemade Salsa (page 77). Freezing Instructions: Wrap the pie plate in foil and place it inside a zip-top freezer bag. Chill the dish in the refrigerator before freezing. To Thaw And Serve: Thaw the pie plate in the refrigerator. Preheat the oven to 350F (180C or gas mark 4). Bake, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
