When we find ourselves at the crossroads of two goods, we must pause and ask God for clarity in our decision making as we consider the options. Try visualizing the two options as two doors in front of you. Consider this four-step framework of questions: Is this a good door?Is this an open door?Is this a wise door?Is this a door that you want to walk through? If the option is not good (an unhealthy relationship, for instance), that should give you a clear answer. Is the choice even open and available? Maybe there are no jobs currently open or you received a rejection letter; that could be a clear sign. Maybe it is a good decision but not wise to move on at the present time; perhaps it will have negative consequences for those in your community if you act too quickly.
