Are you looking for a math program that lets your preschooler or kindergartener learn math concepts without having to fill out a workbook?Does your child enjoy playing simple games? Are you looking for a math program that will progress on your child’s level without missing any critical math concepts? Then this hands-on approach to Simple Beginning Math is for you!At 100 Days of Home School, we realized kids are usually ready to learn math concepts long before they can write numbers. So, the idea of Simple Beginning Math was born! All the math concepts in Simple Beginning Math are taught without your child having to draw anything. We use play-oriented activities to cover eight different math concepts. Some concepts are taught using an included number chart for counting and other activities. For other concepts, we “play” them by using game pieces we move around on the table. These game pieces are included in the middle of the book. Simple Beginning Math assures that your child will avoid the frustration that comes from trying to learn a math concept without first understanding its foundational concepts. Each of the nine concepts is taught in an order that allows your child to build from one concept to the next. And even though handwriting is not required for any of the math skills taught in this book, it will be necessary for your child to start first-grade math. So, the last section of the book is our innovative number handwriting practice pages. Why are our handwriting pages different? The 100 Days of Home School research lab realized that specific numbers are easier for kids to draw neatly, starting bottom up. Those numbers are 2, 3, and 5. This research has also shown that it's easier for kids to write the number 4 top-down and then right to left. The tracing guide for each number in Simple Beginning Math is formatted to support this innovative research.
