Read more A Scientist Who Happened to Get Involved with UFOs In a world where most people seemed to believe only what they wanted to believe, Dad stood out for living and breathing the scientific method. People frequently asked him if he believed in UFOs, and he invariably focused on the word believe. Hed say that hed never seen a whale, though hed read many credible reports attesting to their existence, but that nobody ever asked him if he believed in whales. What he believed, what he knew to be a fact, was that there were many UFO reports. What he suspected, and sought to validate if possible, was that many of these reports were consistent with each other in some respects. What he hypothesized, often with a twinkle in his eye, was that many of them could be explained by a scientific principle which, though unknown to us today, would be common knowledge to every fifth grader one day. What he felt, and felt strongly, was that these UFO reports were not getting the kind of attention that scientific progress demanded. He didnt believe in UFOs, he accepted the validity of a growing amount of compelling UFO reports. - Scott, Roxane, Joel, Paul, and Ross Hynek Blue Book is Not a Book There is not now nor was there ever an Air Force Blue Book. The Air Force never published a comprehensive compilation of the work of their Project Blue Book, which was the name given to the project concerned with the receipt and analysis of thousands of individual UFO reports recorded over a span of some twenty years. Strange apparitions in the sky and on or near the ground have been reported on occasion throughout history. There was a UFO flap of considerable proportions in the United States in 189798, and in Europe during World War II foo fighters (luminous balls that followed airplanes) were reported by pilots on both sides. There was also a rash of ghost rockets in the Scandinavian countries in 1946. But the year 1947 is generally credited as the year in which the modern wave of flying saucer or UFO reports began. Read more The UFO Experience: The Phenomenon Itself Close Encounters of the First Kind (CE I) Here we have a close encounter with a UFO but there is no interaction of the UFO with either the witness or the environment, or at least none that is discernible. The encounter must be close enough, how- ever, so that the UFO is in the observers own frame of reference and he is able to see details. The chance, therefore, of this sighting being a misidentification of Venus or a conventional aircraft, etc., is quite small, particularly if the sighting is made by several persons. Close Encounters of the Second Kind (CE II) Here the UFO is observed interacting with the environment and frequently with the witness as well. The interaction can be with inanimate matter, as when holes or rings are made on the ground, or with animate matter, as when animals are affected (sometimes becoming aware of the presence of the UFO even before human witnesses). Close Encounters of the Third Kind (CE III) Here there is not only a close encounter with the UFO, but with its apparent occupants or UFOnauts. Close Encounters of the Third Kind bring us to grips with the most puzzling aspect of the UFO phenomenon: the apparent presence of intelligence other than our own, intelligence we can recognize but not understand. Hundreds of Close Encounters of the Third Kind have been reported all over the world in the past decades. Read more The Hynek UFO Report Project Blue Book UFO Secrets Inside Wright-Patterson Fact, Fiction, and Flying Saucers Unconventional Flying Objects The Hynek UFO Report is rational, logical, and realistic. It is for anyone interested in UFOs, the possibility of extraterrestrial life, and the role of the US government in hiding the truth from the public. This is startling and fascinating book that uncovers not only the anatomy of a government cover-up, but also provides stark and chilling evidence that we are not alone. The true nature of what actually crashed in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947 remains classified. Only a select few have ever had access to the truth about what became known as Area 51. Fact, Fiction, and Flying Saucers examines the wealth of archival documents that clearly demonstrate this cooperative disinformation effort and refute the false claims made by these professional scoffers. This book, published posthumously, presents his findings that UFOs obey, not defy, the laws of physics. Vindicating his own sighting and thousands of others, he proves that UFO technology is not only explainable, but attainable.
