You can stitch them along a seam or explore the wonderful world of ribbon work and ribbon embroidery. Braids and ribbons will affect a composition in a similar way, since the eye slides quickly along the line they create. Embroidery was added along the edges of this ribbon. I used perle cotton #8 thread to work quarter-daisies of detached chain stitches. This ribbon was secured to the block with bugle and seed beads. It only needed a light touch of beads to enhance the pattern since it is such a beautiful ribbon. In this case I wanted a dramatic statement!
