Stan wrote a story with new characters, then asked his old friend Jack Kirby to bring them to life. Jack worked on the art, and in 1961 the Fantastic Four became an instant success Stan was an innovator in comic books With a talented group of artists, Stan co-created new heroes like Thor, Iron Man, and the X-Men.
